The world has no shortage of creative chair designs. Most designers emphasize aesthetics and utility while there are some who like to build their own kind of furniture. Egypt-based Ali Shoieb finds himself amid the latter. To that accord, he has conceived a chair that can be installed or disassembled easily without any professional woodworking experience. The designer wanted to design a furniture piece that does not take up space, thus this disassemblable chair was born.
Named “Nice Chair”, it is a unique rocking chair made of four wooden slices that assemble without any tools. As visible in the renderings, the wooden planks (if you may) are designed with horizontal cuts wherein other planks slide in to form the chair. All the slices fit with each other nicely, and it is surprising how they can hold the weight of a person sitting on them.

One flat wooden slice becomes the seat another serves as the back while two curved slices are poised straight as legs. Interestingly, there is also a separate wooden slice that can be tucked into the chair to be used as a mini table. Shoieb has also designed a side table to accompany the Nice Chair.
The chair design is simple and defined by its construction; however, we are not sure about its practicality. It is pretty confusing as to how it will be stable, while comfort and ergonomics are questionable as well.
