Repurposing cooking utensils is a great deed that brings old, unused things to life. If you like the idea, here’s a quick and easy DIY to repurpose metal spoons into useful stuff. Dinah Wulf of DIY Inspired shares an interesting tutorial about converting metal spoons into a coat rack. He uses old spoons, towel, mallet, wood signboard, high strength glue and a butane lighter tool for the project.
It starts with flattening of the spoons. Each spoon is folded in the towel and hammered with the mallet until the bowl goes flat. Next is bending spoons using the butane lighter. Just heat up each spoon and bend into a U-shaped hook. Don’t forget to wear heat-resistant gloves while performing the step.

Now it’s time to sand and paint the signboard in the desired color. You’ll also need to spray paint spoons in shiny silver or golden color. Finally, stick the spoons on the board with industrial strength glue and you’re ready to mount the DIY repurposed spoon coat rack on your bedroom wall. You can use screws as well for added strength.
Bending the spoons without doing much harm to the aesthetics is the most difficult part of the project.
