Danish brand Georg Jensen has commissioned the Norwegian design agency Snøhetta for its very first indoor planting accessories collection. Dubbed Terra, it is a nine-piece plant accessory collection crafted in terracotta and stainless steel. The collection is highlighted by distinctive, beautifully rounded shapes, and use of unexpected materials that re-interpret the traditional plant pots and watering utensils.

The Terra collection can be used both indoors and outside. It comprises three sizes of plant pots, the two largest crafted from terracotta and the smallest made from stainless steel; three sizes of uniquely reversible plant pots in stainless steel; a tray with a set of three small planters ideal for herbs; and lastly, a watering can and a small watering globe, both crafted in stainless steel.

All the plant pots are shaped in a way to facilitate the growth of plants. There are three stainless steel planters that feature a subtly tapered silhouette and come with an accompanying saucer. They are reversible, which means you can place them from both sides. The tapered water can in the collection is also an interesting design – just hold it in your hand, there is no handle, purely minimalist.

The Terra collection is available at the Georg Jensen official website. The pricing starts from €55 (about $67) for a set of medium-sized terracotta pot and saucer. The medium-sized stainless steel planter is priced at €63 ($76). The water can costs €79 ($96).

The Terra indoor planter collection was named the finalist in Interior Design Magazine’s 2020 Best of Year Awards in the Tabletop category. The inverted organic forms along with the mixture of rough surface of terracotta and shining of stainless steel make a contemporary and urban interpretation of potted plants for modern home gardeners.
