For the past decade, office chairs have not quite changed in their design. That’s why they don’t seem comfortable for today’s modern office lifestyle, where workers have to use so many devices at once. Due to this, they have to sit in an uncomfortable position during the whole day. However, Steelcase, a US-based furniture company, wants to revolutionize the office chair with its latest ergonomic design, Karman.

This stylish and highly comfortable office chair is apt for 21st century workers. In 2019, the company conducted research and found that around 40 percent of workers wanted to change their postures when working. This is because their new work demands them to attend Zoom meetings, work on two monitors, or in other varying requirements. For these different tasks, they need to change their positions to avoid physical discomfort.

Therefore, the US-based furniture experts decided to create Karman that intends the next evolution in office furniture. It is a classic mesh-back office chair, which moves naturally according to the body. This helps in getting rid of pressure points that are often generated by conventional office chairs.

Since Karman’s back boasts a textile called Intermix, the chair distributes weight evenly while being supportive. So, it won’t sag or feel very stiff. This material is perfectly fixed on a lightweight flexible frame, which eliminates the hard edges. Due to this, users can sit any way they desire.

Most importantly, this new office chair boasts a patented hybrid seat structure. This structure further combines the Intermix with built-in cushioning and suspends it on the flexible frame. It eliminates the pressure that’s often caused due to constant sitting for long hours. All this adds up to an ergonomic nature-inspired design, which moves organically with users sitting in it. So, there won’t be any more complaints of back pains due to sitting in uncomfortable positions for an extended period.

Weighing only 29lbs, this new office chair is made of sustainable materials. It also doesn’t include any unnecessary components during construction. This helps in keeping its design smooth and lightweight.

Another interesting point is that this chair is available in the basic black version and other vibrant hues. So, you can easily choose the one that suits your office interior. However, its price and availability are not announced yet. But according to the company, it will go on sale in the first half of 2022. For more information, visit the company’s official website.
