Trifo has unveiled its next-gen artificial intelligence-based Robot Vacuum, Ironpie at CES 2019. According to Trifo, this robotic floor cleaner is designed to do everything better than any other high-priced premium robot vacuum cleaner on the market.
The smart robot vacuum is able to clean faster, protect your furniture, as well as controlled from anywhere via a companion mobile app. This advanced robot has continuously enhanced intelligence and comes integrated with Alexa and Google Home integration – which will make this device part of the smart home appliances.
The Ironpie’s core technical features can pair an ARMv8 quad-core processor with the company’s proprietary Trifo Intelligent Robotics Vision System (TIRVS). Moreover, its suite of sensors is able to continuously track real-time position and orientation. With its collected position-tracking data, the Ironpie creates a 3D map of the home. Trifo has even patented the simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) system to prevent the robot from obstacles while cleaning.
The Ironpie makes use of a zigzag route that helps the vacuum identifying areas that are yet to be cleaned. This way it can easily reposition and clean the entire area quickly. Onboard infrared and sonar sensors help the vacuum cleaner to avoid obstacles in areas with mixed light levels, which are intended to protect furniture at the same time. The sensors have “cliff detection” to prevent the vacuum from falling down the stairs.
According to Trifo, the Ironpie smartphone app can manage the robot vacuum and also serve as a remote surveillance utility. A VGA (640 x 480 resolution) video camera is integrated into the Ironpie’s top surface to monitor every movement of the robot vacuum in the house. The app even displays a map or track of the vacuum’s route on your phone.
The Ironpie runs on a 2,500mAh battery that fully charges in five hours and has an estimated 100 minutes of cleaning time. The AI-integrated Ironpie will be available in February 2019 in black and white colors for $299.
