There are so many reasons why it can be hard to find affordable and cool accommodations on route to Iceland. It is a general problem all over the world and not limited to just Iceland. If you are planning to visit Iceland, you should book your hotel in advance to eliminate any complications.

Today, we are featuring an amazing vacation home offering sweeping views over Akureyri, one of the biggest towns in Iceland. Dubbed as Villa Lola, it is a wooden cabin featuring three separate living sections with roofs sloping into different directions. Located just 7 km from the center of Akureyri, it offers sweeping views of Eyjafjordur fjord. The best part about the cabin is that it can be rented through Airbnb.

Villa Lola is made of low-maintenance materials and is built by Reykjavik studio Arkís. The cabin sits on a concrete base and is clad on the exterior with larch-wood weathered to its nature grayish color, forming a natural weather protection. Wooden boards and concrete terrazzo are used for flooring the cabin. Inner walls of are surfaced with gypsum boards painted with eco-friendly paint. All the windows are of made of wood and are clad with aluminum on the exteriors.

The cabin has a home studio, living area with kitchenette, loft bedroom, and a bathroom on the first floor. You can also ask for an extra bed or baby bed. The bright red fridge by Smeg and red kitchen block with red-pink tiles backsplash makes a perfect environment to cozy-up for ultimate vacation experience.

It is a great location to enjoy the best Icelandic landscape, hiking tours, skiing, diving, kayaking and a variety of other activities. Villa Lola is also a preferable holiday let for people wishing to experience aurora borealis or the midnight sun.

It can accommodate two guests comfortably and can be booked for a minimum of three days under the price tag of 139€ (US$165)/night.
