Nearly nine months back, Minimaliste, a Canadian high-profile tiny house builder unveiled an ADU dubbed Mini³ (Minicube). Not many would have thought that in the coming days, the ADU would reach the pinnacle of popularity, and there would be a great surge in its demand. But Minimaliste was one of the manufacturers to foresee the future and announced the release of four tiny house models on the foundation that primarily serve as an ADU, but also allow you to reap the benefits of a full-fledged mobile dwelling. Today, we’ll discuss one of these models dubbed the Mini 35 tiny house, or Mini 35 ADU.

As evident from the name, the Mini 35 ADU is a 35-foot-long dwelling on a foundation. But it’s the width it offers that makes it more functional. Being 12 feet wide, Mini 35 boasts 420 square feet of area, divided into three distinct spaces. The first of which is the main-floor bedroom. Positioned at the rear, the bedroom has two closet cabinets on either side of the bed, making it storage-friendly. Sleeping two people comfortably, the bedroom can further be equipped with a king-size bed with storage underneath.

Adjacent is a space designated to the bathroom that features a shower, toilet, and sink. A hallway leads to the kitchen and living room of the Mini 35 ADU. Featuring a dining table, cabinetry, and countertop, the kitchen is highly elegant and functional.

To add to the functionality, Minimaliste has accoutered the space with a sofa that makes the kitchen double as a living room. Not to mention, the refrigerator, oven, TV, and other appliances elevate the status of the Mini 35 ADU.

The exterior features a clean and homogeneous design that blends well with any backyard. “The cladding is a mix of standing seam steel with hidden fasteners installed vertically with woodgrain imitation steel installed horizontally. The vertical steel is offered in three colors: black, white and charcoal gray while the horizontal steel is offered in three colors; espresso, desert and urban gray,” informs the company. The doors and windows keep the interior light-filled.

Priced at $131,500, the ADU may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for those who are looking for a luxe space to rent, it is a great option to fill your backyard with.
