Many people have started holidaying close to a volcano, a reason, vacation homes are erupting near volcanoes. This treehouse in Hawaii and the Phoenix tiny home are some previous examples. Here we confront a volcano lodge that’s beautiful on the outside and cozy inside. Dubbed Casanido Cottage, this wood cabin is located on the slopes of the Calbuco volcano in southern Chile.

Owned by Carolina and Julien, the wooden cabin is a sophisticated vacation retreat for couples looking to escape chaotic city life. With gabled-roof and log siding, it resonates a fairytale-inspired appearance. Furthermore, the woody location creates a perfect space to spend time in peace. The wood cabin has a bedroom for two, a living room with a half-moon sofa, overlooking the Calbuco volcano and a fully-equipped kitchen with windows opening to the Osorno volcano.

Besides the indoor living space, there’s an open-air terrace on the first floor with log chairs and a wood-fired hot tub. The cabin gets power from the solar panels and is heated through a wood burning stove.
