Campinawe New Crossover Solo Teardrop Trailer Trades Fixed Bed for Roomier, Multi-Use Interior

Biggest change in the trailer is what it removes

Much has changed in the camping sphere since 2022, when Croft Trailer Supply and Infusion Design first joined hands to launch Campinawe teardrop trailer in the RV market. In the past five years or so, teardrop trailers have evolved from old-school rigs to off-road beasts that are off-grid-ready and roomier. Better late than never, the makers of Campinawe realized the shift and made considerable tweaks to its 15-foot model, christening it the Crossover Solo teardrop trailer.

To clarify, Crossover Solo isn’t the name of the trailer but a layout. Until now, Campinawe has only offered the Queen bed layout. The brand has now expanded its floor plan options with the all-new Crossover Solo layout, which replaces the fixed bed for a fold-away twin XL, freeing up considerable interior space for dining and office work.

Where the original floor plan filled nearly the entire interior with a fixed 60×80-inch queen mattress, the new layout downsizes to a 38×80-inch twin XL bed mounted on a collapsible frame. Both the mattress and the lower bed platform fold in half and stack onto the upper portion of the frame beside a multi-tier nightstand with stacked drawers.

As evident in the video tour of the trailer, the bed’s outer support rail then slides out and stows against the far sidewall, more than doubling the available open floor space. The result is a versatile interior that functions as a remote workspace, dining area, exercise space, or lounge, depending on the time of day. The swing-up worktop doubles as a dining table and a desk, with the edge of the bed serving as a seat when needed.

The core of the Campinawe remains the same as its predecessor. The trailer is built on a rugged steel tub chassis from Croft Trailers. The exterior continues to boast an angular, cubist-inspired profile, finished in Kynar, a resin-based metal coating reportedly rated for temperatures from -40 degrees Fahrenheit to 250 degrees Fahrenheit, engineered to resist warping, rot, mold, and mildew. A signature flip-up skylight hatch in the roof allows for stargazing at night and passive ventilation during the day.

The Campinawe is available in three versions: Pioneer, Frontier, and Adventure. The Crossover Solo layout is not available on the base Pioneer, meaning buyers must step up to the Frontier or the Adventure, priced at $39,995 and $54,995, respectively. The Frontier version includes a Yeti Tundra 45 cooler, 34-liter fresh water tank, RinseKit pump and shower system, dual-burner stove, Redarc electrical package, and a 90-degree awning, which upgrades to a Dometic CFX3 35 refrigerator, 68-liter fresh water tank, shower with instant water heater, 270-degree awning, Ecoflow HVAC system, entertainment system, and an onboard air compressor in the Adventure version.

When it comes to off-road adventures, the trailer comes equipped with a 4,850-lbs Cruisemaster independent suspension with a 3-inch lift, Lock ‘n’ Roll articulating hitch coupler, 33-inch all-terrain tires, and wraparound fender steps. The Frontier includes two rooftop crossbars, and the Adventure includes three, meaning Crossover Solo owners can mount a rooftop tent when traveling with others, accommodating extra guests outside the trailer while keeping the versatile interior to themselves. Those interested can hop on the Campinawe official website to secure their purchase now.
