The tiny house industry has evolved in a way that none could have predicted when the affordable housing solution first came to life. Going from petite mobile structures to park models fit for growing families, the industry grew, and our appetite for the downsized lifestyle grew with it. The only challenge remaining was to create a hybrid structure that supports the popular A-frame façade, an A-frame tiny house on wheels, if you will. A task, Nevada-based builder Mainefactured Tiny Homes has achieved with its Casa Francesca.
The Casa Francesca is an A-frame tiny house on wheels with a rooftop terrace, becoming the perfect micro-dwelling for a nature lover. Given its build, you’d expect the configurations to be huge, but it clocks in at 10 feet wide and 39 feet long. Measurements that modern tiny homes frequently toe around, including the 41-foot mansion on wheels or the Breckenridge, and everything between these two.
The Case Francesca maintains a sleek architectural beauty, craftsmanship, and character, while offering a memorable living experience. While the builder has created this A-frame tiny house as an ideal candidate for commercial uses, such as vacation rentals, it certainly fits the desires of a downsized enthusiast who wishes to merge outdoor and indoor living.
The steel-framed construction is built for longevity, no matter where you decide to place the compact house. It is insulated with R-24 closed-cell spray foam in walls, ceilings, and floors to keep the home at optimal temperature regardless of the weather outside. Meanwhile, two mini-splits help with the task.
Inside, tall cedar ceilings, handcrafted oak herringbone flooring, custom oak cabinetry, and quartz countertops create an enticing amalgamation of materials and textures. The A-frame structure has a complete glass wall, with the French doors opening into the living area. It can fit a convertible couch, a coffee table, a couple of drawer chests, an entertainment unit, and the dining setup.
The adjoining structure looks like an ordinary micro-dwelling from the outside. But the magic is quietly brewing inside. Past the living area, there is a bathroom with a glass shower door, a tankless water heater, a full-size double-door closet, a sink, a toilet, and tiled surfaces.
Next to it is the kitchen, exuding quiet luxury. The area includes an induction cooktop, refrigerator, microwave, oven, quartz countertops, and space for a washer/dryer unit. There are plenty of custom cabinets to help keep the space organized.
The bedroom of the tiny house is at the other end. It can effortlessly fit a king-size bed, a couple of nightstands, a dresser, and a cabinet. There are French doors in here as well to facilitate an indoor-outdoor connection.
Now comes the best part: The full rooftop terrace. An iron-forged spiral staircase at the back of the bedroom area leads to the rooftop space, where you can entertain guests, enjoy warm weather in winter, or enjoy gently breezed kissing your cheeks in the evening on a hot summer day.
Recently presented at the EarthX at the Hilton Anatole Dallas, the Casa Francesca A-frame tiny house is now open for private acquisition. Mainefactured says that this model “performs beautifully as a short-term rental investment or a private retreat designed to be remembered.” If it tickles your fancy for either of these options, you can reserve the A-frame tiny house on wheels for $180,000.
