There’s a recurring debate among tiny home enthusiasts, especially on Reddit threads, over whether park model RVs actually make more sense than towable tiny homes. The Country Cabin tiny house from Tennessee-based builder Hilltop Structures is a good example of why that debate is still raging on.
Those who know a thing or two about the tiny house market know for a fact that Park Models are classified as RVs rather than permanent structures. As a result, they tend to bypass the strict local building regulations that towable tiny homes often have to navigate, making them a more accessible and increasingly popular option for buyers, and that’s precisely the case with the Country Cabin tiny house too.
The company offers the model in multiple sizes, with its current display unit measuring 38 feet long and 12 feet wide. Many would argue that the length is well below the limit for it to be classified as a tiny house, but it’s the extra width that makes all the difference. According to the International Residential Code, a dwelling must be no more than 8.5 feet wide to be classified as a tiny home, and 12 feet is too wide to fit the bill.
That extra width, however, helps the manufacturer expand the common area so it can function as a living room-cum-kitchen. The layout also includes a private bedroom, one bathroom, and a loft bedroom, all within a maximum living space of 400 square feet. An open porch provides sufficient space for outdoor lounging. We’ll get to all these aspects, but first let’s start with the exterior.
The exterior of the Country Cabin tiny house is wrapped in 8-inch LP engineered lap siding, while the metal roof is designed to handle the elements over the long term. Windows are insulated vinyl clay units, and the doors are fiberglass, with glass inserts available as an upgrade. All in all, the tiny house leans into durability over flashy design.
Inside, the walls are finished in tongue-and-groove paneling, giving the space a warm, cabin-like character its name implies, and the ceilings are insulated with spray foam for better temperature control. Climate comfort comes courtesy of a built-in mini-split system for heating and cooling, paired with deluxe vinyl plank flooring that runs throughout the unit.
Similar to the Smoky Mountain tiny house, the Country Cabin tiny house features a rustic kitchen and an old-school living room. The living room includes a wooden table and a couple of chairs. Its kitchen features solid wooden countertops and cabinets, coupled with a range of appliances including a microwave and refrigerator. Other features include sinks and light fixtures that continue the rustic aesthetic.

The Country Cabin tiny house features a compact stairway leading up to a small loft. The loft sleeps a couple. To accommodate the rest, the tiny house also includes a private bedroom. However, based on the pictures, it seems apt to sleep a kid or two, implying the Country Cabin tiny house is perfect for a family with kids.
Down the hall to the bedroom is the bathroom, which features a corner shower designed to make the most of the space, a toilet, and a vanity sink. There is no word on the price yet, but based on current market standards, it should cost well above $100,000.
