Deniz Aktay never fails to amaze us with his concept designs. From beautiful coffee tables to unique bookshelves, the German designer has tried his hand at offering a futuristic perspective to all sorts of furnishing items. A year back he dropped the Bookgroove side table on Instagram which sent netizens into a frenzy.

Gradually, Deniz has become a cult figure in the concept design community, which tends to bombard the comment sections of his updates with requests to see the renders turn into reality. Well, it’s been quite a wait, but as Deniz had confirmed to Homecrux, the Drop Side Table will be his first design to be available for purchase, and so here it is!

“The Drop side table combines dynamic lines in an asymmetrical design and offers plenty of storage space for everyday companions thanks to the curved shape transitions,” states Deniz Aktay.

The curved contours may be the highlight of the furniture, but its usage elevates its status to a unique and functional object. Boasting a minimalist yet sculptural design, the Drop side table can be used upside down.

FIip the side table on either of the four sides, it will offer practical storage and a sturdy top, allowing you to house everyday items, from your favorite magazines to headsets, in the table itself.

“The Drop side table is 3D printed in vase mode means it is optimized regarding printing time and material use. The table combines a linear and curved design giving a dynamic appearance to the eye by generating cavities for storing objects at the same time. It is either a complementary piece of any space or the main piece of any interior,” Deniz tells us.

Made of recycled material, (recycled food packaging mixed with wood residues), the Drop side table comes in three different sizes. The table is manufactured in northern Germany from predominantly recycled materials using additives and is currently up for grabs at Recozy for €389 (approximately $430).
