The Chinese multinational technology company Lenovo has announced a Google Assistant-powered smart clock at CES 2019. Featuring a compact design with a full fabric cover, it is designed specifically to be in the bedroom. With an onboard four-inch touchscreen, this smart clock displays weather and traffic updates, calendar and alarms, song name and obviously, the time. The screen displays time with multiple customizable clock faces when not in use, avoiding any distractions at night.
In addition to being a smart clock, it can charge devices, play music, and can even be programmed to complement wake and sleep cycles by initiating personalized tasks. Another interesting feature is that it works as a smart home hub to connect with compatible smart devices in the house. One can set the Lenovo Smart Clock to automatically dim lights, turn on coffee maker in the kitchen or switch on the heater in the living room as you wake up in the morning.
The smart clock offers great sound with the built-in 6W speaker and two passive radiators, enhanced with Dolby’s background noise reduction technology. It also supports multi-room functionality and works with Chromecast, allowing you can stream shows and music on your TV with voice commands.
Interestingly, the Lenovo smart clock includes a mute button to stop listening to personal sounds. In the end, we can say that it has all the features of a smart clock with the addition of a speaker. It will be available for purchase at $79.99, starting in spring 2019.
