LG Display is one of the biggest players in display technology and it’s evident from the fact that it is the only company manufacturing transparent OLED displays to date. You will soon be able to catch glimpse of another creative option from the company – a bendable display – which will be showcased at CES 2021.
LG touts it as the world’s first 48-inch Bendable Cinematic Sound OLED (CSO) optimized for gaming. This bendable display is a paper-thin screen that can bend up to a radius of 1,000mm without affecting the function of the display.
This display can be turned into a flat-screen for watching TV and used as a curved screen while gaming. The curved display offers a uniform viewing distance from the middle of the screen to its edge, maximizing the visual immersion which is popular among gamers.
The company’s CSO technology enables OLED displays to vibrate and make their own sound without the use of speakers. The ultra-slim film exciter used to vibrate the display has been reduced to a thickness of just 0.6mm from 9mm – another technological feat!

The OLED technology offers vivid picture quality, along with a seamless experience delivered by a response time of 0.1 milliseconds (ms), a refresh rate of 120Hz per second, and a wide variable refresh rate range from 40Hz to 120Hz.
Furthermore, these OLED displays have been recognized and certified by leading global certification organizations as emitting low levels of blue light and being flicker-free, making them ideal for gamers who spend an extended period of time in front of the screen.
