Consumer electronics brand Panasonic is looking to expand its hold in the kitchen appliance industry, and its latest steps are proof of this strategy. After refreshing its lineup a few months ago, the brand has now launched a new countertop microwave oven that aims to raise the bar in terms of heating technology. The all-new NN-SF57RM model stands out by minimizing cold spots, unlike traditional microwaves.

This countertop microwave delivers 1,200 watts of high-power cooking and features Panasonic’s patented Inverter technology, which maintains consistent microwave power levels throughout the cooking process. This helps heat food more evenly from center to edge, reducing hot and cold spots.

It also utilizes Genius Sensor 2.0 to monitor food temperature at 64 distinct points every 0.1 seconds and automatically adjust cooking time and power levels in real time. This allows the microwave to respond to different foods and temperatures for even heating across the entire plate. This ability to accurately heat multiple types of food on one plate makes it ideal for leftovers and one-bowl cooking. It includes automated programs to cook multi-ingredient meals like chili or carbonara.

This microwave replaces the traditional rotating turntable with a 1-cubic-foot flatbed design. This simple improvement provides more usable cooking space and makes it easier to wipe clean. There is a digital display alongside physical buttons and a Start/Select dial located beneath the door for controlling the microwave. It also includes a dedicated Keep Warm mode (up to 30 minutes) and Auto Defrost.

Inspired by Japanese craftsmanship, the Panasonic Japanese Microwave blends sleek, minimal design with precision technology. The streamlined profile, muted graphite finish, and minimalist interface allow it to blend into contemporary kitchens. The pull-down, oven-style door is another useful detail that allows use even in tight conditions.

The Panasonic Japanese Microwave is now available on the official website and Amazon for $430.
