When I introduced you to Taula Table collection, I sang praises of Patricia Urquiola and her unique approach to design. The celebrated Spanish designer has introduced many playful collections which has a feminine touch to them. She is undoubtedly the biggest women’s design influencer at present and her stature is no less than that of Zaha Hadid.

Given this, Glas Italia approached the designer for making a storage unit collection for the Salone del Mobile 2022. A storage unit sounds ordinary, but with the magnetic touch of Patricia, it is now one of the major highlights of the Milan Furniture Fair. Dubbed Doble, the entire Glas Italia collection is made of complete glass, without the use of a single piece of metal – not even a screw.

Boasting a hexagonal shape, these storage units are crafted with laminated glass that creates an extraordinary optical illusion. The object placed inside the storage unit appears to change its shape, size and even quality. The overall effect is psychedelic to an extent that the item inside the storage unit even seem to change its material constituency. It isn’t as impressive as Duffy London’s design, but the designer is a brand in herself to make people go gaga over it.

Available in three different sizes, the storage unit can be used to keep antiques. Some of you may even consider it to place everyday items, magazines, books etc. Whatever might be the case, it would not just be a great addition to your home but also a great storage chest that’ll add aesthetics to your interior.
