Duffy London has gained prominence for being an atelier that constantly defies the laws of nature with its design. Christopher Duffy, the owner of Duffy London introduced the Megalith table series in 2015. The design of the table was inspired by the monolith from the 1968 cult classic film, 2001: A Space Odyssey, directed by Stanley Kubrick.

Seven years later, Duffy London has expanded the Megalith collection with the addition of Megalith coffee table. The Megalith table series was earlier available in both dining and coffee table sizes. This time around, the studio has focused on a coffee table that is available in eight bespoke finishes.

Made using powder-coated mild steel, the tilting monolith used in the base of the Megalith coffee table are available in white-veined black marble, black-veined white marble, and mirror-polished rose gold finishes. Other finish options include powder-coated mild steel in single and multiple colors, mirror-polished stainless steel, brushed stainless steel, marble and single gold monolith, and mixed marble.

The stunning piece of furniture defies the rule of physics. Considering past designs of the East-London-based studio, we should get used to this strange symphony between gravity and the studio design philosophy.

Just like any other table in the Megalith series, these tables also have a glass top poised on six toppling monolith structures that evenly distribute the glass weight. The dining table version required eight to nine monoliths to hold the glass base and varied in size, the coffee table here settles with four to six such structures.

Measuring 120-inches long, 80-inches wide, and 45-inches high, the table will add a wow factor to your living. The limited edition Megalith coffee table is available through Duffy London’s official website for $29,838 (£22,800)
