Bathtubs are the heart of any bathroom. These giant bowls allow immersion into pleasant waters and relieve stressed minds and muscles with gentle laps. I am a bathtub fan and always on the lookout for the best in the industry. While there is a wide variety of bathtubs, I think nothing compares to the unparalleled beauty of the natural stone. But, I was wrong!

Check out the Spoon XL bathtub, a freestanding tub by renowned Italian bathroom accessories brand Agape, which looks as if it is made of premium natural stone but is made from Cristalplant, a patented material that mimics the appearance and tactile properties of natural stones.

Cristalplant is a stone-like material made from mineral fillers of high-purity aluminum trihydrates, bound by Biobased resins of vegetable origin. This unique and recently created material again became the top contender for Agape when the brand was trying to reinvent its original Spoon bathtub with a deeper base. The new version of the Spoon reflects over two decades of bathtub evolution at Agape.

Sporting sophisticated geometry, thinner edges, and refined material, the oval Spoon XL takes the edge off by letting you enjoy a soothing bath time. The minimalistic design of the XL tub sets it apart from the plethora of bathtubs available on the market, along with its material use.

The possibilities and sensations that a relaxing bath can provide is only matched by a massage session. While the Spoon will not massage your sore muscles after a long, hard day, it will soothe your mind and body in a deep soaking bath. The Cristalplant lends the Spoon XL a soft touch that mimics how polished stone feels on bare skin.

The ingenious use of Cristalplant material ensures the contemporary shape and longevity of the bathtub, as it is repairable. It is easy to craft using cast or vacuum molding and provides a seamless organic design that can blend in any bathroom style.

Designed by Benedini Associati, the Agape Spoon XL bathtub is available in white or two-tone colors in dark and light grey, which further enhances its minimalistic appeal.
