New Zealand’s Ruru Tiny Homes is among the tiny house builders shaping up the industry in the land Down Under. With a gaggle of sleek micro-dwellings in unpainted board and batten exteriors, the company has established itself as a fan-favorite among tiny life enthusiasts. The latest creation by the firm is the Kaka tiny house. This compact house is a fit park model for a small family as it has plenty to offer within two configurations of 32.8 feet and 39.3 feet. It complies with the unique style of the manufacturer and comes outfitted with a giant loft that is perfect to turn into a Jack and Jill bedroom.

Although a Jack and Jill bedroom is usually connected via a full-sized bathroom located between two bedrooms and is accessible by both through two separate doors, the tiny house industry has given the term a slightly different meaning. Now, it simply signifies a space in a compact area that is divided into two bedrooms and is not connected via a shared bathroom but a hallway or a door. This feature is relatively new and is often seen in bigger lofts that are sectioned into open-plan bedrooms to provide designated living spaces for the children.

The Kaka tiny house provides its owners with an amazing opportunity to turn its gigantic loft into a Jack and Jill bedroom. The loft sits above the bathroom and main-floor bedroom, allowing it to occupy around 16 16-foot x 9.8-foot area. It is accessible via a glass railing-equipped L-shaped staircase next to the kitchen. There are multiple windows in the low ceiling space to keep it bright and airy so it doesn’t feel stuffy.

On the main floor, the kitchen takes up the center stage right in front of the front French doors. The L-shaped kitchen is outfitted with modern appliances including a four-burner cooktop, an oven, and a mini fridge. It also features generous countertops and multiple under-counter storage options.

The flow of the open layout extends to the living area, which is designed to operate as a versatile space. It has enough room for a couch, a coffee table, an entertainment unit, and a dining setup.

On the other side, a hallway leads to the main-floor bedroom and the bathroom. The bathroom is big for a tiny house. It features a shower cabin, a toilet, a vanity sink, and space for a washer/dryer hookup. The bedroom at the end of the hall is roomy and bright, thanks to French doors that provide a separate entrance.

The Kaka tiny house is great and has a comforting charm but the one thing that is lacking is the storage space. However, the builder is offering an exclusive price of NZD 215,000 (USD 130,000) for this one unit. Hurry up, if this unit sells, the price will get jacked up.
