Sky Hut (or Caban y Nen in Welsh) in New Quay, West Wales is a romantic tiny cabin with a retractable roof that can be rented for overnight stays. Designed by Waind Gohil + Potter Architects, it is one of the 8 pop-up hotels built under Epic Retreats. The cabin was featured on a Channel 4 documentary called ‘Cabins in the Wild’ that can be viewed on Netflix. Currently, this tiny cabin is placed on a working farm with shared communal facilities.

Sky Hut is a unique lakeside cabin where one can enjoy the natural beauty of Cardigan Bay and its wide range of attractions including the Cambrian Mountains and golden sand. It’s a single room cabin with a double bed that can be turned into a sofa.

There is also a small kitchenette, separate shower room, washbasin, compost toilet, wood burner, hot tub, and an elevated patio area to enjoy the surrounding lake and countryside views. Two people can stay in the cabin at a time and its romantic location makes it worthwhile for couples.

The most interesting feature is the roof that opens up to expose the cabin to outside elements. The residents will be able to stargaze Wales’ beautiful night sky from the comfort of the sofa or bed. Sky Hut can be rented for £67 about $90 per night on Best of Wales.
