Bux End, a Hobbit home-inspired garden shed built by Chris Hield as his hobby workshop has been named the overall winner of the 2019 Cuprinol Shed of the Year competition.
Bux End was one of the 20 shortlisted finalists, and the shed was featured under Nature’s Haven category in the competition. The shed won after receiving most public votes.
Elated by the achievement, Chris said,
It really is a haven for nature so I am over the moon that I’ve won such a great competition.
An avid fan of Lord of the Rings, he was inspired by the hobbit hole to build his unique shed. It features a green grass roof and a round door to resemble a hobbit home. He has included a table for work and a cozy sofa to sit on in the warmth of a fireplace indoors. Furthermore, there are plenty of shelves to store tools.
For winning this national competition, sponsored by woodcare brand Cuprinol, Chris has been awarded £1,000 ($1,230), a wooden plaque, £100 ($123) worth of Cuprinol products, and a giant gold-colored crown.
