The Netherlands-based company Gröna Huset built a versatile tiny house with an exceptionally spacious interior in a smaller footprint. Ideal for families, the Gröna Huset tiny house sleeps up to seven people and offers multiple uses with its modular and versatile design. Built for slow living, the prefab tiny house acts like a nature-connected escape far away from noisy and fast-paced urban life.
Josefin Ljungberg de Jager designed this house, which started as a prototype built for her family. Later on, using this tiny house as a prototype, she launched her own prefab company, Gröna Huset, and designed more tiny houses. “My designs support daily life quietly, so everything you need has a place, and nothing gets in the way,” says Josefin.
Spread across 200 square feet area, the Gröna Huset tiny house evokes a warm, cocooning feeling through its natural material selection. Its wood-clad exterior, painted in calm sage green, seamlessly merges with the lush foliage.
Its wooden deck expands the living space and merges it with the outdoors. The large glazed windows and floor-to-ceiling glazing maintain the biophilic connection with the outdoors and flood the interior with natural light.

The wooden sliding door opens into the beautiful interior clad in warm wood panels and bamboo. The natural cork flooring provides natural warmth and absorbs excess sound. The high ceiling and neutral color palette make the interior feel expansive. The use of multipurpose furniture is one of the most practical and space-saving features of this tiny house.
The kitchen, present in the center of the tiny house, has generous cabinetry with built-in storage. The minimalist design of the kitchen integrates the refrigerator and freezer within the cabinetry to maintain a clutter-free visual. The cabinet on the left side includes a mobile induction hob, oven, or air fryer.
The large floating shelf above the countertop and another vertical cabinet give more room for storage. The vertical cabinetry with built-in storage, located right next to the kitchen, includes extra space that you can use as an extra countertop. The cabinetry has an integrated foldable desk, designed to disappear, allowing you to work while sitting close to nature.
The living room, located on the left side of the kitchen, includes cozy seating with multiple windows, which bring in natural sunlight. The linen cushions and sheepskin-style chair bring tactile warmth to the interior. You can fold the dining table into a coffee table and store the stackable stools away when not in use to save space.

When it comes to the sleeping zone, three cubby rooms inspired by Japanese capsule hotels easily sleep up to six people, while a convertible sofa in the living room adds a seventh sleeping spot. Each spacious bedroom ensures total privacy and a comfortable sleeping space with glazed windows bringing in plenty of natural light.
The versatile and modular design of Gröna Huset tiny house allows you to choose between permanent living and mobile living on wheels. The tiny house packs down an expansive living space in a tiny footprint with modern, space-saving amenities. The only downside of the layout is that there is no bathroom inside the house, but surely that can be customized if you really fancy the design. You can use the tiny house as a family cabin, a garden studio, a holiday house, or private student rooms.
